Build your menus
A menu is what guests browse. It's made of categories ("Starters", "Drinks"), and each category holds items. An item can sit in as many categories and menus as you like: edit it once and every menu updates.
Create a menu
- Open Menus in the sidebar and choose New menu.
- Give it a title in Menu title, and an optional Description.
- Choose Add category to create your first category, then add items to it.
- Choose Save.
Categories
Categories show as tabs along the top of the editor, and as the links guests tap on your public menu.
- Add a category with Add beside the tabs.
- Reorder categories by dragging their tabs. The order you set is the order guests see.
- Delete a category by right-clicking its tab and choosing Delete category.
Each category has a title and an optional description.
Add items to a category
Choose Add item in a category. Search your library under Search items… and pick the items to add, or choose Create new item to make one on the spot.
- Reorder items by dragging their handles.
- Move an item to another category with Move.
- Remove an item from the category with its ×.
Removing an item from a category, or deleting a category or a whole menu, never deletes the items: they stay in your library under Items.
Save your changes
The editor doesn't save as you type. Its status reads Unsaved changes until you choose Save, then All changes saved. Choose Discard to throw your edits away.
If you try to leave with unsaved changes, MenuTada asks whether to Keep editing, Discard or Save.
If someone else saved the same menu while you were editing, MenuTada asks which version to keep: Keep mine or Use theirs.
Delete a menu
Choose Delete in the menu's toolbar. Its items stay in your library.
Menu hours
On MenuTada+, a menu can have its own hours: open Menu Settings, turn off All day menu, and set Begin and End. Hours can run past midnight (10:00 PM to 2:00 AM). They follow your restaurant's Time zone in Settings → Restaurant details, so set that first.
Turn off Visible to hide a menu from guests while you work on it.
Which menu guests see
Menus with nothing on them are skipped. Of the rest, guests see:
- The menu whose hours are open right now.
- Otherwise, your first all-day menu.
- Otherwise, the menu that opens next, marked with when it opens. Guests can still browse it.
With more than one menu, guests can switch: the menu's name under your header opens a list of every menu with its hours, such as Open now · until 11:00 AM or Opens at 5:00 PM.
